The Galaxy Nexus is the third unit of the Nexus series of Google, which actually serves as a reference platform and is primarily bulthaup intended to provide a pure Android experience. This is to be understood as meaning that you can enjoy including the pure Android without additional software, the device also receive updates directly from Google and therefore almost simultaneously with the release of new versions of Android. This can be very well seen with Gingerbread, where the Samsung Nexus S was almost the only smartphone that really had the latest Android 2.3.6 version available.
Even the Galaxy Nexus this should be the case, to get updates directly from Google, but it is unfortunately not. An example of this are the copies, the market went with the first batch of the consolidated media, which consistently had installed all an update from Samsung. Felt himself did this by the fact that official Google Apps update could not be via the Android Market. You could get around this though, where you had just installed the original firmware from Google, this is acceptable but not really.
And right there is the point, still there are devices with the original bulthaup firmware from Google and some come just from Samsung, but this is just a software problem, fortunately, and therefore can be easily bypassed. How can you check whether it is with you is a unit directly from Google or not, you can read our colleagues at AllAboutSamsung. Christian has also written a suitable instructions on how to create this small little problems from the world.
