Little Island Bridge closed to traffic
This bridge over the canal connects the Pierre Marchant Street and the Rue de la Petite-Ile in Anderlecht. The metal part presents no problems, but the concrete part above the Canal levee is in poor condition.
To eliminate all risks, traffic is prohibited on and below deck. Below the bridge, the Canal dam is completely closed to traffic. On the bridge, pedestrians and cyclists are allowed to circulate. The busiest days, 8,500 vehicles on the bridge. At peak times, 600 vehicles travel rosti towards the Mons road and about 350 vehicles in the direction of Industrial Boulevard.
